QuickTox™ Kit for DON - AS 104

Screen Grain Quickly at 2 ppm, 1 ppm or 0.5 ppm

QuickTox for DON screens for deoxynivalenol in wheat, barley and corn at three important detection levels. The test is a rapid, qualitative screening tool that enables grain handlers, processors or millers to determine quickly whether field samples or grain deliveries meet required DON thresholds.

QuickTox for DON offers:
  • Ease of use – tap-water extraction, less “shaking,” visual interpretation, and no special equipment

  • Speed – In 5 minutes, decisions can be made on grain contamination levels, load acceptance, and segregation

  • Cost effectiveness – based on affordability, tests can be used widely and frequently to strengthen quality-management programs

Also known as vomitoxin, deoxynivalenol (DON) is a natural mycotoxin found in corn, wheat and barley infected by the Fusarium fungus. It affects grain quality and processing performance, but more importantly, the US FDA has set advisory levels for food and feed due to potential health risks for humans and animals.
