Envirologix: Putting Science to the Test
QuickStix Kit for Botrytis in Grape Wine Juice - AS 049 GP
Detect & Quantify Bunch Rot
The QuickStix Kit for Botrytis in wine grape juice rapidly detects and measures the primary cause of bunch rot, Botrytis cinerea. Used with a QuickStix Reader, the novel testing system helps vineyards, laboratories and winemakers make better decisions on harvesting, segregation and fermentation.
- The QuickStix Strip uses an antibody that recognizes a specific Botrytis antigen in grape juice, giving a “yes/no” result.
- The EnviroLogix QuickStix Reader quantifies the amount of Botrytis in the sample by “reading” the Strip. Results are reported as a percent infection either by weight or incidence, using the Dewey I-W Standard, a measurement scale developed during research at wine grape inspection stands in California.
- QuickStix lateral flow tests are available in packs of 5 or 25 strips; the reader is sold separately.
One of the wine grape industry’s main diseases, Botrytis has been described as the “billion dollar challenge,” owing to the associated costs of disease management, lower-quality berries, and lost sales worldwide. Let the QuickStix Kit for Botrytis help you manage its impact and maximize your profits.
