Immunomagnetic Beads

All of our diagnostic test kits are based on immunoassay platforms, which allow for rapid, sensitive and economic screening of large numbers of samples in markets previously constrained by high cost and slow turn-around time.

Rare reagents and antibodies used in our test kits are produced on-site in our hybridoma lab, allowing us to develop and test new diagnostics quickly and efficiently. We manufacture all test kits on-site in our 32,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, so we are able to monitor the quality control process from initial test development right through to final delivery.

QuickBeads™

The QuickBead technology for sample preparation is the newest diagnostic breakthrough from EnviroLogix. QuickBeads allow the capture of a target pathogen on the surface of the beads. Exposing them to a magnetic field allows the separation of the beads (along with the bound target) from unwanted material, thus yielding a clean and concentrated sample of the organism. This technique is known as ImmunoMagnetic Separation (IMS). Specificity can be to the strain level.

The magnetic beads provided in the kit are coated with a monoclonal antibody that is very specific to the pathogen of interest. Initially developed for testing seedlots for suspected infection, the test can also be used on plant tissue and other sample extract media.

IMS combined with PCR (IMS-PCR) is a valuable technique for the analysis of various hard-to-detect bacteria. The ability to cleanly separate the target pathogen from unwanted background, matrix, or extraction materials makes PCR easier and more accurate.

Now testing labs can have highly sensitive and well characterized antibody-coated magnetic beads from a trusted source for IMS-PCR analysis at a fraction of the cost of coating their own.
