Susan Tapley

Vice President, Product Development

Susan Tapley is a dedicated and innovative leader who has extensive laboratory, project management, and operations experience across several industries. As Vice President of Product Development, she is responsible for executing the product strategy to develop innovative diagnostic solutions for our life science, grain market and food supply chain customers. She is a resourceful leader who has demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects from concept to commercialization, bringing high-quality diagnostics to market, developing strong, high-performing teams, as well as facilitating cross-functional teams to ensure clear and concise alignment across the organization.

Susan has been with the company since 2011, starting as a molecular scientist, and later moving into Manager and Director roles within Product Development. In 2021, she brought her talents and understanding to the real time-demands of manufacturing as Vice President of Operations. Susan has now rejoined Product Development as Vice President, and will continue to utilize her broad product, technical and team building expertise.

Prior to joining EnviroLogix, Susan worked as a scientist for an aquatic life science biotech company, MariCal Inc, located in Portland, ME. She then moved into the pharmaceutical industry where she researched Type II Diabetes at Pfizer’s Groton, CT location in their cardiovascular and metabolic diseases group.

Susan earned a Master’s in Biology from Brown University, in addition to her BS in Biology and BA in Chemistry from Roger Williams University. She is passionate about building inclusive teams and co-founded the Women’s Impact Network at EnviroLogix, an employee belonging group empowering women in the workplace to advance their careers and increase awareness of gender bias. Susan currently resides in Poland, ME with her husband and two children.
