EnviroLogix shines the employee spotlight on the recipients of this year’s founders’ award recipients, Jamie Welch and Sam Green.

The Bruce S. Ferguson Award is presented annually to the EnviroLogix employee who exemplifies a passion for science, innovation, creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit of its namesake. This year it was given to Jamie Welch, who has a deep passion for science and its ability to have a profound impact on and for our customers. One minute, Jamie will be in the lab troubleshooting a customer issue; the next, he’s visiting a customer site performing a demo or training the staff. Jamie is always thinking about growth and how EnviroLogix can continuously innovate. His thinking around new products and business models has had significant influence on EnviroLogix’ product and business strategy. Jamie has the unique ability to look at problems from a very customer-centric perspective and develop solutions from a very scientific/technical point of view. While there were many others who embodied the qualities described in this founder’s award, Jamie’s commitment to innovation and belief that we can always do better for the customer made him a unique choice for this award.

Jamie, a Market Segment Leader on EnviroLogix’ Strategic Development team, is from Concord, New Hampshire originally. He started at EnviroLogix in August of 2002, and loves the company’s innovative drive and deep commitment to customers. “What I love about EnviroLogix is our fearless commitment to solve complex scientific and logistical problems for our customers. But what really differentiates us is our limitless education and support that comes post launch. We seek to simplify and advance food testing for our customers so they can stand behind their products with unwavering confidence.”

The Peter Johnson Award is presented annually to the EnviroLogix Employee who exemplifies the work ethic, dedication, integrity, and humanitarian qualities of its namesake. The award was presented to Sam Green this year. Sam is Mr. EnviroLogix…he loves this company, his co-workers, and our customers and his passion shows on his face, whether he’s here in the office or somewhere across the country visiting a customer at their location. When it comes to internal projects he makes sure every voice is heard. He is not quick to jump to conclusions but quickly and actively considers decisions with care. Sam has also been a youth team coach for many years giving back to his community that has been given to him growing up in the Portland area.

Working on the Sales team as a Territory Manager, Sam is a Southern Maine native who graduated from the University of Maine in 2011.  Sam started at EnviroLogix in April of 2013 as a Sales Support Associate and quickly became a valuable contributor to the team.  When asked about working at EnviroLogix, Sam said, “I love ELIX, both the people and the product we bring to the marketplace. I feel fulfilled because our work has significance, the traceability of our tests makes a positive impact on the global food supply chain.” Now covering a geographical territory which spans the eastern and gulf areas of the US plus parts of Canada, Sam enjoys visiting customers on-site and taking a consultative, proactive approach to help with their challenges.  Sam, a former baseball coach at Greely High School, compared his approach to sales with his days of coaching: “We form a bond as a team and work together to overcome obstacles and make it a win for everyone.”

We salute both Jamie and Sam and celebrate the contributions that they and their fellow award nominees make for the company every single day. Thank you both!
