Help! QuickScan doesn’t recognize the scanner.

QuickScan will not recognize the scanner if the PC cannot recognize the scanner. First, close the QuickScan program. Then try the following:

  • Locate the “Scanner Utility.” This will either be found on the pc’s desktop labeled as “Calibrate” or in Start → Programs → Plustek OpticSlim → Scanner Utility. Double-click to open. If the Scanner Utility window opens, it will say “Status: Scanner connection established!” Click the “+” to calibrate, then the green check to exit. QuickScan will now perform properly.

Disconnect the scanner from the pc and try a different USB port. Make sure the connection is snug, and give the PC time to recognize the hardware. Try to calibrate with the Scanner Utility.

  • If the PC continually fails to recognize the scanner, you may need to upgrade the scanner driver. Contact Tech Support for help.
