All components required for installation are supplied (see Package Contents). If using an existing PC, it should have the following minimum specifications:

  • 1.0 GHz processor speed
  • 250 MB free hard disk space, with at least 1GB recommended for data storage
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 2 Universal Serial Bus ports 1.1 or 2.0 (one port for the scanner; another for the software key)
  • Standard 101/102 key keyboard
  • Color monitor or LCD with 800 x 600 pixels and 16-bit color quality
  • Microsoft Windows XP® (32-bit with Service Pack 3), Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
  • Adobe Reader® (formerly Acrobat Reader)

A host PC can be in most formats (desktop, tower, laptop or netbook). Installation of the host PC should be done according to the manufacturer’s specifications. If an optional USB mouse pointer or printer is needed, a corresponding number of USB device ports will be required. This can be easily accomplished by using an external USB hub or “splitter.”
